Canada pulls Visa-Free travel from A & B due to CBI concerns

The Canadian Government has terminated visa-free travel for citizens of Antigua and Barbuda. The reason for the termination was due to concerns over who obtained passports under the country’s citizen by investment (CBI) program.

This comes on the heels of various incidents such as the detention of several Iranians in Canada carrying Eastern Caribbean passports and heightened security measures taken against Eastern Caribbean travelers.

Currently within CARICOM, only The Bahamas and Barbados continue to maintain visa-free travel to Canada.
