Jamaica leading the charge for Renewable Energy

With almost 50% of its electricity needs projected to be supplied by renewable energy by 2020, Jamaica is taking a prominent role in renewable energy generation in the region. Feasibility studies on 12 rivers on the island have revealed the potential for 26 megawatts of hydropower. Jamaica is also home to the largest windfarm in the Caribbean which produces over 35 megawatts of power.
