1st National Bank, the nation’s preferred Bank, is in the process of strengthening its Assessment Team. For this purpose, 1st National Bank is seeking a dynamic candidate to fill the position of:
CHIEF CREDIT OFFICER
Job Summary:
The Chief Credit Officer is responsible for the Bank’s credit and investment risk functions and assessment of all credit and investment facilities.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assessment of credit and investment submissions.
- Ensure credit turnaround time for lending proposals is in accordance with credit assessment framework guidelines and established service level agreements.
- Review of processes and opportunities for improvement; portfolio reviews for potential acquisitions
- Provide timely and accurate reports on Credit Assessment activities to Finance Manager, Managing Director and Board.
- Credit Risk Review – follow up on actions from credit risk reviews; assist with reporting obligations and provide support in managing the Bank’s Credit Risk portfolio.
- Ensure awareness of current bank activities; develop/maintain working knowledge of economic and industry factors that influence credit decisions.
- Risk and Compliance – comply with the Bank’s risk and compliance requirements as per Credit policies and procedures.
- Policy – contribute to development,
- Ensure that collection targets are met as per the collection strategy
- Ensure compliance with ECCB prudential regulations
- Ensure effective Loan delinquency management
- Ensure service standards, policies, and procedures with regards to Security items are adhered to.
- Provide advice on Bank’s pledged Security matters
- Ensure legal documents accepted on behalf of the Bank have been reviewed for accuracy
- Provide support regarding training and development of staff
- Strong leadership qualities as role model to support staff.
Requirements:
- MSc in Business Management, Banking or Finance or other professional qualification in Accounting/Finance.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Banking industry with at least 5 years management experience in a Lending environment.
- Familiarity with Project Finance, Corporate Lending, Investments and lending to financial institutions
