More LIAT woes.

In the latest challenge to hit the cash-stripped airline, LIAT has asked workers to accept a salary deferral due to its financial constraints. The Leeward Islands Airline Pilots Association (LIALPA) rejected the proposal and threatened to take industrial action if the salaries were not paid on time. The association laid the blame for the airline’s deteriorating financial situation at the feet of top management.

Following an emergency meeting, LIAT has since agreed to pay salaries.
