OECD urges Bahamas to act now to avoid being “Blacklisted”

Head of the OECD Global Forum secretariat, Monica Bhatia urged the Bahamas to take action now to avoid being ‘blacklisted’, claiming that the Islands’ image was that of ‘the last tax haven standing.’

Bhatia spoke on the bilateral implementation of CRS which the Bahamas opted for, being the only country using this model. She claimed that by not adopting a multilateral approach, the Bahamas is seen as undermining the level playing field which the multilateral automatic exchange of information promotes.
