US Regulator says: Avoid cutting foreign bank ties

A US Regulator has encouraged US correspondent banks to avoid cutting off foreign banks unless there is a concrete cause for concern. The Regulator went on to highlight the negative effects of de-risking;, quoting the Comptroller of the Currency , Mr. Thomas Curry, who mentioned that banks generally are not required to know their customer’s customers.
