CAB Professional Development Scholarship Programme
The Caribbean Association of Banks (CAB) is pleased to announce the CAB Professional Development Scholarship Programme, designed to support the professional growth and continuous learning of employees within CAB Member institutions.
This scholarship provides financial assistance to eligible candidates pursuing approved professional development programmes and courses that enhance their skills and contribute to the advancement of the banking and financial services sector.
Scholarship Details
Scholarship Value: Up to US$2,000 per awardee
Number of Scholarships Available: Two (2)
Maximum Duration of Programme: Eighteen (18) Months

Please note that housing and travel expenses are not covered under this scholarship.
Application Requirements
Interested applicants must complete the CAB Scholarship Application Form and submit all required documentation.
Applicants must submit the following documents for consideration:
- Completed CAB Scholarship Application Form – Only fully completed applications will be reviewed.
- One (1) Letter of Recommendation – Issued by the applicant’s employer, which must be a CAB Member institution.
- Current Résumé/Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Professional Programme Information – Details of the professional course or programme the applicant intends to pursue.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be employed with a CAB Member institution for a minimum of two (2) years.
- Complete and submit the CAB Scholarship Application Form.
- Submit one letter of recommendation from their employer.
- Provide a current résumé/CV.
- Submit details of the professional programme they wish to pursue.
Application Deadline: 30th November 30th
Important: Proof of acceptance or enrollment in an approved programme must be submitted before scholarship funds can be disbursed.
Programmes can be selected from, but not limited to:
- Graduate School of Banking
- Credit Skills Academy
- Walden University
- Caribbean Governance Training Institute (CGTT)
- Financial International Business Association (FIBA)
- Jamaica Institute of Financial Services (JIFS)
- The Bahamas Institute of Financial Services (BIFS)
- The Institute of Banking and Finance of Trinidad and Tobago
- Chartered Banker Institute
- CariCRIS
Scholarship Disbursement
Scholarship funds will be disbursed as follows:
- 50% of the programme cost will be paid directly to the awardee upon commencement of the approved programme during the selection year.
- The remaining 50% will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the programme.
Reimbursement Requirements
Awardees must submit:
- Official receipts confirming programme expenses; and
- Verification of successful completion of the programme.
Reimbursement will not be processed until all required documentation has been received and verified.
Recipients’ Key Responsibilities
Recipients are required to adhere to the CAB Scholarship Terms & Conditions, including:
Programme Participation
- Maintain satisfactory academic and professional progress throughout the programme.
Volunteer Service Requirement
Recipients must complete twenty (20) volunteer hours, either by:
- Supporting a CAB event; or
- Completing a community-based or school-based project with significant impact.
Projects must receive prior approval from CAB, and recipients must submit a written report upon completion.
Communication Requirements
Recipients must promptly notify CAB of any changes to:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Enrollment status
Members are encouraged to identify and support qualified candidates within their institutions who demonstrate commitment to professional excellence and lifelong learning.
