Caribbean Association of Banks and Mastercard Launch Regional Cybersecurity Initiative to Strengthen Financial Sector Resilience

The Caribbean Association of Banks (CAB), in partnership with Mastercard, today announced the launch of a regional cybersecurity initiative aimed at strengthening resilience and digital trust across Caribbean financial institutions. The program introduces a one-year cybersecurity benefit for CAB member banks, offering continuous cyber risk monitoring and region-specific threat intelligence. A Collective Commitment to Protect the Caribbean Financial Ecosystem.

As cyberattacks increase in frequency and sophistication across Latin America and the Caribbean, this initiative supports financial institutions in enhancing oversight of their digital ecosystems. Participating banks will be better equipped to detect threats early, strengthen third-party risk management, and proactively manage cyber exposure. New Cybersecurity Benefit for CAB Members. Through this initiative, CAB member institutions will receive:

1. Continuous Third-Party Cyber Risk Monitoring

Participating institutions will gain access to continuous, non-intrusive monitoring of their external digital footprint, including critical third-party service providers. This capability enhances operational resilience, strengthens oversight of service providers, and supports early identification of vulnerabilities, in line with global supervisory and governance expectations.

2. Caribbean-Focused Cyber Threat Intelligence Report

Members will also receive a tailored regional Cyber Threat Intelligence Report powered by Mastercard Global Insights and the Recorded Future intelligence engine. The report includes analysis of key attack vectors affecting the region, insights into threat actors and at-risk assets, and benchmarks with recommended controls aligned to leading cybersecurity practices.

This initiative represents a meaningful step forward in advancing the Caribbean’s cybersecurity posture.

CAB and Mastercard look forward to partnering with member institutions to strengthen the resilience, trust, and security of the Caribbean financial system.
